  • Lower water to winterizing level

  • Filter: backwash sand or flush cartridge(s)
  • Winterize underground plumbing & plug*
  • Remove deck equipment (drop-in steps not included)
  • Wrap solar blanket on roller
  • Check water chemistry and balance**  ***

  • Replace water bags if necessary**

Basic Pool Closing

Client to vacuum pool and lower water level.

  • Add Closing Chemical Kit**
  • Replace water bags if necessary**

Please note: Drop in steps are left in place if handrail is removable or the homeowner is to remove prior to our visit

Prepare for Closing Day checklist:

  • Bring a water sample to The Pool Shoppe to be tested to ensure water balance.

  • Chemically cleaning your filter sand is best done before closing your pool.

  • Keep the pump running and the pool clean until we arrive to close your pool. We expect to complete a maintenance level vacuum; if extra debris load, there will be an extra cost to clean and potential for reschedule of the closing service.

  • Ensure that power and water are on and accessible for the closing crew.

  • Ensure that your winter cover and closing accessories are out and accessible by the closing crew. Our trucks are fully stocked with gizmos, plugs, water bags, etc. if required. All chemicals and parts provided by The Pool Shoppe necessary to complete the closing will be charged for at an additional cost; if chemistry changes to be made are too great, the closing service may need to be rescheduled.

  • Please have solar blanket off pool.
